Following retirement I have developed my own private practice as a chartered psychologist, working as a counsellor, psychotherapist and a personal and business coach. She also runs tailor made training for psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, teachers and voluntary agencies.
How I work with you:
I will develop a relationship with you to help and support you to make the changes in your life you feel are necessary for you to make progress and live your life to the full within your individual and personal circumstances. I will respect your values, your lifestyle and lifestyle choices and your ability to learn and change: your belief in yourself. The first session is always an assessment session so that I can understand why you have come for help. At the end of the first session I will explain a number of ways I can help you address your problem/s. We will jointly agree which of these methods you would prefer for your initial therapy.
We can work together on any issues/problems/change you choose to bring to your sessions with me. I offer a quiet space for you to talk, a listening ear, therapies that may help you to make progress: to be able to take hold of your problem, explore it and find new ways to deal with it: successful strategies for helping you to live life to the full and realistically within your personal and professional circumstances.
I use a range of therapeutic strategies depending on your need as a client. I will always explain my methods of working to you. Inevitably there will always be some challenging sessions: change cannot happen without challenging some beliefs and behaviours, ways of thinking too.
